Pennies From Heaven
This story started in December of 2018. Due to an illness in the family I was going through one of the worse times I have ever lived. This one morning I asked my dad in Spirit for a sign that things would get better and the nightmare would end well.
I remembered when I was younger he would often send me coins, ten pence coins mainly. I knew back then the coins were a sign from him and I would find them in the strangest of places. They always brought me comfort.
So, on this cold winter day I asked my dad to send me a coin.
Due to everything that happened that day I completely forgot about my request when I left the Spanish hospital late that evening with my husband. We made a dash against the wind for the car park and just as we were about to cross the road my husband bent down and picked something up.
He then placed a ten pence coin in my hand.
I stared at the coin in silence. He had no idea I had asked my dad for a coin that morning nor did he know I had been thinking about the ten pence coins my dad used to send me.
I calmly explained to him about my request to Spirit whilst on the return journey home. But inside I was not calm at all. My dad had not only sent me a sign, but he had answered me. Everything was going to be OK.
This small coin of little value meant the world to me, because it meant the nightmare would end and everything would work itself out. The coin brought hope, peace and relief when I needed it the most.
I kept the coin beside my bed and each morning I would remember that soon everything would be OK. I touched it every night and instead of rivers of tears I knew another day of hospitals and sadness was over and brighter days were ahead.
Let’s fast forward a few months.
The worse of the nightmare had ended and brighter days were becoming more frequent. Everything was working itself out.
I decided to write a post about my ten pence. I searched my images for a nice picture of a ten pence piece but found none, instead a 10-cent franc caught my attention.
I debated to use it or not for this post and downloaded the image but then thought it may be best to just go in my bedroom and take a picture of the actual ten pence piece. (did I tell you I am the laziest medium in the world?)
Work got busy and the post was delayed. The day before the anniversary of my dads death I was thinking about him and his much needed sign and put this post down on my To Do list for the following week.
I had just finished with my never ending To Do list when my husband returned from shopping. “Look,” he said pulling out a coin. “I’ve been done,” he said joking and passed me an old franc coin, the exact same coin I had downloaded.
On its own this is really nothing, just my husband finding a coin and some months later being given a Franc instead of a Euro. It isn’t a big deal, it isn’t life changing, it really is nothing.
But to me it meant EVERYTHING.
At my darkest moment I had asked for something specific and that very same day it was placed in my hand.
It was the difference between thinking one of the closest people in my life was going to die to knowing they would make it and everything would be OK.
To me the simple sign was the difference between sleeping on a pillow of tears or dreaming of great times to come.
The coin that would get me maybe a couple of sweets, to me was my priceless sign of hope.
The Franc is worthless, not even a sweet. Since France is in the Euro.
But to me it was confirmation, it was a reminder Spirit don’t just send signs in the darkest times but ALWAYS.
It was also a reminder to do this post and share my pennies from heaven with those who want to read.
When it feels like a sign, it is a sign!
The magic of Spirit signs is when we acknowledge the “norm” for something amazing. When a simple coin, flower, feather or smell can bring us peace, hope and guidance.
When something otherwise trivial becomes something never to be forgotten, that is when we are truly talking the sign language of Spirit.
I meet so many people and receive tons of emails from readers who tell me about their own sign the ask me if it was really a sign from their Spirit loved one or are they just grabbing onto hope, maybe going mad or being silly.
My answer is: When it feels like a sign, then it is a sign.
Spirit take great pleasure in communicating with us. When you feel you have received a sign, no matter how silly it may seem, thank Spirit and keep your eyes open for more to come.
Because once you recognise a sign from Spirit they often send you more.
